William H. “Bill” Dugan, Jr.
HORNELL-William H. “Bill” Dugan, Jr., 85, of Hornell, passed away peacefully late Sunday afternoon (Feb. 10, 2019) at St. James Hospital in Hornell, after a brief illness.
Born in Elmira in 1933, Bill graduated from Elmira Free Academy in 1951. After completing high school, he immediately entered the Marine Corps and served from 1952 to 1955. After military duties, Bill joined the Ere-Lackawanna Railroad and eventually Conrail transferring to Hornell in 1963.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, William H. Dugan, Sr. and Ann Gomoski Dugan; two sisters, Frances Huntone and Peggy Firman; and his wife, Betty Defabrizio Dugan, who died in 2009.
He is survived by one brother, Robert Dugan and his wife, Debbie; two children, William H. Dugan III and Marty Dugan; as well as nieces and nephews.
At Bill’s request there will be no calling hours and a private service will be held for him and his wife at Bath National Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are with the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc. in Hornell.

  1. Mr Dugan was a wonderful man .I enjoyed the talks when walking at James Street Park . He had interesting stories that were so wonderful to listen to. RIP Mr Dugan.
