Theresa A. (Crosby) Watson

HORNELL/TUCSON – Theresa A. (Crosby) Watson, 73, formerly of Hornell, passed away late Wednesday evening (Jan. 7, 2026) at her home in Tucson, AZ, after a long illness.

Born in Hornell on June 20, 1952, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Anna Eileen (Hargreaves) Crosby.

While residing in Hornell, during her younger years, Theresa was a graduate of St. Ann’s School and Hornell High School, class of 1970.

Throughout the years she was employed as a social worker at a Catholic home for troubled girls in Tarrytown, NY and later she was employed at Solo Cup and Collegiate Cap & Gown in Champaign, IL before retiring and moving to Tucson, AZ in 1998.

Theresa was a communicant of St. Ann Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Tucson.

She was known for being silly, fun and was very musically inclined. She loved spending time quilting, doing crafts and wood carvings.

Theresa is lovingly survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Ray Watson; four siblings, Mike (Rhonda) Crosby of Champaign, IL, Margaret (Dale) Foster of Loda, IL, Joanne (Kirk) Baker of El Paso, AR and Casey (Luanne) Crosby of Rochester, NY; a step sibling, Sheldon of Hartford, CT; three step grandchildren as well as 10 nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are 4-6 p.m. FRIDAY (Jan. 23. 2026) at the Bishop-Johnson & DeSanto Funeral Home, 285 Main St., Hornell. Relatives and friends are invited to join her family at St. Ann’s Church, 35 Erie Ave., Hornell where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. SATURDAY (Jan. 24, 2026). Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to Catholic Charities Steuben/Livingston, 12 Allen St., Hornell, NY 14843. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and church.

  1. Theresa was a classmate of mine, although have not seen much of her through the years. I always appreciated her kindness and compassion that see exhibited. Very well liked and respected. May you Rest In Peace.
