HAMMONDSPORT – Shelley Rinehart, of Hammondsport, New York, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was 74 years old.
Shelley was born on July 20, 1952, in Long Beach, California. He was a hardworking, dedicated man who took great pride in everything he did.
On September 17, 1983, Shelley married the love of his life, Mary “Kathy” Rinehart. Together, they built a life centered around family, love, hard work, and countless memories.
Throughout his life, Shelley used his skills and determination to build and remodel numerous homes and businesses. He was a man who believed in working hard, doing things right, and taking care of the people around him.
Shelley leaves behind a lifetime of hard work, a family who loved him deeply, and memories that will be treasured forever. His family was incredibly important to him, and he cherished the time he spent with his wife, daughters, and grandchildren.
Shelley is survived by his beloved wife, Mary “Kathy” Rinehart; his daughters, Rachel Rinehart, Jessica (Daniel) Conley, and Melinda Jensen; and his grandchildren, Lexi Johnson, Alaina Rinehart, Dillan Conley, Danielle Conley, Morgan Conley, Dustin Conley, Riley Jensen, and Kensley Jensen.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at the Wayne Fire Department on Saturday, August 29th, 2026, at 2 pm.
