SERENITY ROSE “REN”, “RENNY” BOISSENIN

COLORADO SPRINGS, C0-Serenity Rose “Ren”, “Renny” Boissenin, 9.5 months old, peacefully earned her wings on Thursday (Jan. 5, 2012) while battling Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type 1 at Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, CO. Serenity was born on March 11, 2011 at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, CO.
God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be so he put His arms around you and whispered “Come to me.” With tearful eyes we watched you as you slowly slipped away and though we loved you dearly we couldn’t make you stay. Your golden heart stopped beating, you tired hands put to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best. (God Saw You Getting Tired, by Frances and Kathleen Coelho.)
Her family includes her parents, Tyler and Nicole Bailey Boissenin of Colorado Springs, CO; her maternal grandparents, Patricia Bailey of Arkport and Russell (Joanne) Bailey of Wellsville; her paternal grandparents, Steven (Michelle) Boissenin of Wellsville; maternal great-grandmother, Marlene Campbell of Fremont; paternal great-grandparents, Robert Boissenin of Lockport and Earl Hadsell of Glendale, Az.; also her aunts and uncles, Tim (Nichole) Bailey of Arkport, Tiffany Martin of Arkport, William, Kristin and Rachel Fahs of Wellsville; and several great aunts, uncles as well as her two cats, Chevy and Loki.
She was predeceased by her paternal great-grandmother, Jacquelyn Boissenin of Lockport on Dec. 24, 2011.
Serenity’s family would like to express special thanks to Families of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (FSMA), Pikes Peak Hospice and 4/42 FA stationed at Fort Carson, CO.
Calling hours are from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday (Jan. 22) at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell, where a funeral service will be held following calling hours at 2 p.m. Sunday, with the Rev. Donald Maynard officiating. Private committal service will be at the Fremont Cemetery.

  2. Just a note of sympathy to Nicole from her old school librarian. I met with your aunt the week of the funeral, she told me your story, and it has been a hard one to shake. Just want you to know that you have my sympathy as you adjust to life without such a special little girl.
