Sean Walter VanIderstine

ROCHESTER/ARKPORT – Sean Walter VanIderstine, 33, of Rochester, formerly of Arkport, died unexpectedly on Thursday (Jan. 25, 2018).

He was born on Nov. 4, 1984, in Hornell, to Brent R. VanIderstine and Catherine Crossett. He graduated from Arkport Central School in 2003 and also graduated from UTI Houston and attended Broome Community College.

Sean cared deeply about other people, loved cars, studied photography, was involved with a band, and just recently, found he loved being a cook at 585 Rockin’ Burger Bar in Rochester.

Sean was predeceased by his father, Brent VanIderstine, both grandfathers, Louis Crossett and Harry VanIderstine and also, Harry’s wife, Pam VanIderstine.

He is survived by his mother, Catherine Crossett VanIderstine of Arkport; his sister, Lisa (Aaron) Cornman of Carlisle, Pa.; his brother, Stephen VanIderstine of Auburn, N.Y.; his nephew, Benjamin Cornman of Carlisle, Pa. and his girlfriend, Samatha Tunney of Honeoye Falls, N.Y. Sean is also survived by grandparents, Loretta Crossett of Arkport and Virginia (Stanley) Farnsworth of Palm Bay, Fla.; four uncles, Russell (Anita) VanIderstine of Malabar, Fla., James (Marianne) Crossett of Cary, N.C., Joseph (Debra) Crossett of Eldersburg, Md. and Charles (Trisha) Crossett of Eldersburg, Md.; two aunts, Leslie (Don) Mix of Ogdensburg, N.Y. and Megan (Tim) Burke of Fort Orange, Fla.; along with other aunts, uncles, cousins and family.

The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of Sean Walter VanIderstine.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
