SCOTT L. TINGLEY

HORNELL-Scott L. Tingley, 63, passed away on Wednesday (Aug. 28, 2013) at his home on Grand St., after a long illness.
Born in Hornell on Feb. 4, 1950, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Dorothy Griffin Tingley. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his step-father, George Wales; his son, Marcus Tingley and his infant sister, Star Tingley.
A resident of Hornell for most of his life, Scott began his employment at the railroad shops in Hornell the day after he graduated from Hornell High School and worked there for several different employers over the years, and most recently with Alstom as a journeyman machinist.
Scott will be remembered as a family man who was often considered a “jack of all trades.” He loved to spend time in the garage at his home repairing cars and numerous other items for family and friends; he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
His loving family includes his wife, the former Teri McInerney; his six children, Brian (Melissa) Tingley, Star Tingley, Stephanie (David) Coddington, Melissa (Dr. Joseph) McKay, Valerie (Steven) Groves and Scott Tingley (Julie Davis) all of Hornell; his 10 grandchildren, Laura Lee Tingley, Dani Robson, Hunter, Marcus and Brianna Tingley, Dominic and Easton Coddington, Kiera and Allison McKay and Grace Groves; his brother, Terry (Bonnie) Tingley of Jacksonville, Fla. and their three daughters, Pamela, Judy and Suzanne; also his brother-in-law, Patrick (Cindy) McInerney of Owings Mills, Md.
To honor his wishes there will be no calling hours or services.
Arrangements are with the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell.
