RUTH I. LOVELAND

AVOCA-Ruth I. Loveland, 92, passed away late Saturday evening (Feb. 27, 2010) at the Steuben County Health Care Facility in Bath, after a long illness.
Born in the Town of Fremont on April 12, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Pearl Davis Evans. In 1935 she was married in the Town of Fremont to Walter Loveland, who predeceased her in Sept. of 1996 after 61 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Ted Loveland; her granddaughter, Debbie Finch; her son-in-law, Delbert Schutz; her brother, Shirley Evans and her sister, Rena Mae Evans.
A housewife, Ruth resided in the Avoca area as well as Zephyrhills, Fla. and was employed as a secretary for the Steuben County Department of Social services in Bath.
Her family includes her daughter, Laura Schutz of Bath; her son, Donald (Theresa) Loveland of Prattsburgh; her three grandchildren, Douglas Schutz of Savona, Ted (Darlene) Loveland of Wayland and Vicky Johnson of Avoca; her seven great grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; her daughter-in-law, Mary Loveland of Bath; also her nieces, nephews and her caregivers at the Steuben County Health Care Facility.
Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m.-noon Thursday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will be held following calling hours at noon Thursday, with the Rev. Sande Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Valley View Cemetery, Avoca.

She was a wonderful lady & good friend.Our thoughts & prayers also go out to the rest of family at this difficult & sad time.Hold on to the wonderful memories..She is with Walter now and in God’s care..Bev & AL
