  6. Steve….

Peg and I were saddened to hear about your father. He lived a long and happy life….lots of wonderful family.

My first thought was this skinny guy in a mailman’s suit….helping me up. I had just gotten a two wheel bike…and was having trouble. I crashed right in front of your house. He got me back on the bike and ran me up the street…School street…one hand on the seat. He did it a couple times….until I got the hang of it. I was 5 or 6? It was just the kind of guy he was. I probably have not thought of that in 40 or 50 years. Wow….good thoughts. I can see the street…it was so big then….. and his face…..smiling.

A sad time, but….look at the legacy he left behind. Hug all the family for me….for us.

I’m not sure we have your new phone number……send or call please. We had a PO box for you….still good? New?

    Sorry…..

  7. Steve, I’m so sorry about your father. I loved you characterization of him in your email. I’ll never forget how important he was to Catherine. He went way out of his way to ensure her safety and the relationship they had was very special for both of them. I remember your father as a personable, likeable man and you were lucky to have him all of these years. Again, my regards to you, your Mom and the family. Colleen

  10. My thoughts and prayers are with the Kubiak family for their loss. Mr. Kubiak was a great man, father, grandfather, and greatgrandfather. He was always a pleasure to have a conversation with. May the good Lord give Mr. Kubiak a hug because he received a great man with him in heaven!!

  11. I received the sad news of Uncle Bobs passing. Growing up without a father, Uncle Bob filled a void in my life. I can remember being a young school boy at Fathers Day and making our kids crafts cards and mine would go to him.

Growing up in Hornell, and having him as our mailman for many years gave us plenty of opportunity to see and enjoy a cold glass of chocolate milk with him.

Uncle Bob was also my sponsor during my Confirmation, I have fond memories of he and Aunt Jean coming to Elmira to celebrate with us.

On this Veterans Day, I salute him for his military service. He told me of his Army experiences which years later influenced my decision to join the US Army, rather than another branch. This country was founded and built and defended by all our heroic vets and I am proud to say that he was one of them.

I also honor his service and commitment to the church and his civic organizations. A great man truly does serve God and his fellow man.

God bless you Uncle Bob and keep a look out over all of us.

    Jack Pease and family.

  12. Bob,
So sorry to hear of your loss. I saw the obituary in my local newspaper and I thought I would send my condolences. My Mom passed away this time last year and the people at Bishop & Johnson did a wonderful job in helping with the arrangements, as I know they will do for you and your family. Again, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours.

  13. I did not know Robert Kubiac, but I know his son, Dan. I would have liked to have known Robert for how he lived a full live, served his country and community, and raised a large family to pass on his many decent values. God speed this good American.

  14. Aunt Jean and family,

I will miss seeing Uncle Bob and his smiling face at St. Ann Church, Our Lady of the Valley! I know that he is safe at home in heaven and that mom (his sister, Ann) was there to greet him.

Even before I married into the family, I knew of “Bob the mailman”….he was quite legnedary in our neck of the woods in Hornell!

Our own family’s thoughts, prayers and love to all of you!
    Love, Beth Ann

  15. Remembering you today, 1 year later, and always. We are wishing you many blessings now that you are safe in the hands of God. You are missed and loved by many.

  16. We remember you today and always. Two years later.

Leaving you the same fall flowers you enjoyed looking at the last week you were here.

    Bless you Grandpa <3
