ROBERT R. JACKSON

HORNELL-Robert R. Jackson, 66, of 71 Church Street Court, passed away Sunday afternoon (Aug. 8, 2010) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
Born in Hornell on May 28, 1944, he was a son of the late Perry and Helen Karnes Jackson.
A life long resident of Hornell, Bob was a graduate of Hornell High School and served as volunteer fireman for 25 years for the South Hornell Fire Company.
Bob enjoyed attending the Hornell Little League and the Hornell Dodger baseball games as well as his grandchildren’s baseball and football games.
His family includes his four children, Helen Jackson (Al Klinesmith) of Hornell, Anna (Roy) Summerlin of Ft. Pierce, Fla., Ron (Valerie) Jackson of Hornell and Lori Jackson (Alan Ingalls) of Fremont; also his seven grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Dale Karnes.
There will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service and gathering at the South Hornell Fire Hall beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Patrick Harrison will officiate at the memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to either the South Hornell Hornell Fire Co., PO Box 361, Hornell or to the Hornell Little League, PO Box 374, Hornell, NY 14843.
