Rachelle L. “Rae” Peterson

 

  HAMMONDSPORT – Rachelle L. “Rae” Peterson, 51, Bean Station Road (Town of Wheeler) passed away peacefully Thursday morning (Nov. 16, 2023) at the Vincent House in Wayland, NY.

Born in Bath, NY on March 3, 1972, she was a daughter of Ronald F. Clements and Diane M. (Haff) Rivers.

A resident of the Hammondsport area for most of her life, Rae was a graduate of Hammondsport Central School, class of 1990.

She was employed as the Head Server at the Waterfront Restaurant on Keuka Lake for many years, where they considered her as family.

Rae loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hiking, biking, kayaking, gardening, and landscaping. She also liked to travel and spend time at the beach. She will be remembered for being an amazing cook.

She is lovingly survived by her three children, Jordon Bernd of Bath, NY, Meriah VanSickle of Avoca, NY and Nathan Peterson of Prattsburgh, NY; two grandchildren, Raelynn Jensen and Kailer Olesen; her mother, Diane (Doug) Rivers of Cohocton, NY; her father, Ronald Clements of Franklin, PA; her brother, Marc (Keri) Clements of Prattsburgh, NY; three nephews, Joshua, Isaac and Caleb Clements; also many aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as many dear friends.

The family will greet relatives and friends from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Wednesday (Nov. 29, 2023) at the Wallace Wesleyan Church where a funeral service will take place in her memory at 11:15 a.m., with Pastor Bill Spencer officiating. Following the service everyone is invited to attend a luncheon at the church.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Vincent House, 310 Second Ave.., P.O. Box 566, Wayland, NY 14572.

The Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., AVOCA is honored to assist Rae’s family with the arrangements.

  2. Too young. We are so sorry to all the family for your loss. Family is everything and I’m sure there will be a hole created by this passing. However, that hole will eventually get smaller and smaller, without so much hurt and sadness. Those times will be replaced by happier times shared of her. Please reach out however you need if there is anything at all we can do. You will all be in my prayers.
