NANCY A. TOWNER
HORNELL/AVOCA-Nancy A. Towner, 71, of Hornell, formerly of Avoca, passed away early Wednesday morning (Nov. 7, 2012) at the home of her daughter, Brenda Towner, in Hornell.
Born in Avoca on June 19, 1941 she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Gladys Martin Danielson. She was married to L.D. Towner, who predeceased her on March 19, 2012. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her brother, Andrew Danielson, Jr.
She was employed as an equipment operator for Wallace Farms and also operated her own private nursing home.
Nancy enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandkids.
Her family includes her four children, Sarah (Ceasar) Taccone of Cohocton, L.D. Towner, Jr. of Hornell, Joseph (Kim) Towner of Avoca and Brenda Towner (Tonya Fullmer) of Hornell; her seven grandchildren, Andrew (Danielle) Towner, Heather Towner, Amanda Towner all of Hornell, Adam Towner of Cohocton, Joshua Towner of Wayland, Corey Towner and Becky Towner of Avoca; her three great-grandchildren, Jaylin, Piper and Chase all of Hornell; her two brothers, Donald (Nancy) Danielson of Virginia and Duane (Claire) Danielson of Cohocton; also several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held in her memory at 2 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 13) at Highland Cemetery, Avoca; Pastor Bill Spencer will officiate.
In lieu o flowers, those wishing may contribute to either the American Diabetes Assoc. or the American Heart Assoc.
Arrangements are with the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca.
