Born in Jasper on Nov. 20, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Almond K. and Charlotte May Wood Dennis. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her infant son, her two brothers, Warren and Leland Dennis and her two sisters, Mildred Marsh and Verdi Dennis.
A graduate of the former Canisteo Academy and Keuka College, class of 1935, Marion has resided in the Hornell-Canisteo area since 1945 and became a resident of Belle Haven in 1951.
She was a homemaker, a long time member of the Steuben County Republican Committee, and also served as an election inspector in South Hornell for many years.
Marion loved to work in her flower garden, and enjoyed spending time at the former Big Elms Restaurant and the Italian Villa Restaurant in Hornell. She was also well known for her telephone “networking.”
Her family includes her four sons, James (Nancy) Wilson of Livonia, Dennis (Lynn) Wilson of Hornell, Michael Wilson of Canisteo and Paul (Gail) Wilson of Hammondsport; her four grandchildren, Michelle Walker, Hilary (Tom) Clyne, Nicholas (Megan) Wilson and Nathan Wilson; her two great-grandchildren, Alexander Walker and Sydney Tucker; also her nieces, nephews and great nieces and great-nephews.

The courtesy of no flowers would be appreciated and those wishing may contribute in her memory to their favorite charity.

  2. Although I did not know her, she was my 3rd cousin once removed. I would love to add more information on the rest of the family, to my family tree. Marion was my Mom’s third cousin and your Dad was a cousin on my Dad’s side.
