Margaret “Peggie”/ “Punkie” (Hingula) Ravelingeen

BATH – Margaret “Peggie”/ “Punkie” (Hingula) Ravelingeen, 63, of Bath, formerly of Avoca, passed on Sunday (Jan. 9, 2022).

She was born on March 3, 1958, in New York City to the late Edward and Margaret Hingula.

She had a heart of gold and if there were any flaws, they were blocked out by gleam that prevailed past that. She was the image of the iconic “I Love Lucy” that she gave first and questioned the repercussions second. And she was a force and attitude to contend with if it involved her family.

Besides her parents she was predeceased her two sons, David Walter Tallmadge, and Thomas Joseph Huston; grandson, Evyn Hingula; also, two brothers, Thomas Hingula and Larry Hingula.

She is survived by her husband, Renaat; three children, Maureen Hingula, Edward B. Hingula and Michelle Ravelingeen; six loving grandchildren, Edward Hingula, Lilly and Zander Huston, Olivia Johnson, Chance and David Jordan; one brother, Edward T. Hingula; loving nephews, her Godson, Lawrence Hingula, Joseph Hingula, William Hingula and Robert Hingula; loving nieces, Kristin Seefeldt, Goddaughters, Amy Deviscovi and Julie Band-Anderson.

She married Renaat F. Ravelingeen on May 14, 1983, in Jacksonville, NC. She was from City Island, NY while Renaat grew up in Chicago, IL. They met by Camp Lejeune and married after he was released from the Marine Corps. They moved several times to meet the needs of their children and settled in Avoca, NY and recently moved to Bath, NY where this epic adventure ends. “The bubble gum that binds, would be their book.”

Calling hours are 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 15, 2022) at the Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home (formerly Avoca Funeral Home), 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will take place following the calling hours at 1 p.m. Saturday, with Rev. James Jaeger officiating.
