Laurence Bradley Kennedy

BATH – Laurence Bradley Kennedy, 96, of Bath, NY passed away Wednesday (Nov. 9, 2022).

Born in Prattsburgh, NY on May 11, 1926, he was a son of the late Joseph M. and Ellen J. (McCormick) Kennedy. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by one daughter, Mary Lou Kennedy; two sisters, Phyllis Peek and Thelma Peek; one brother, Joseph Kennedy; and a daughter-in-law, Shelly Kennedy.

He was self-employed as a farmer and was also a vineyardist for Gold Seal Winery.

Laurence was an avid NY Yankee and Buffalo Bills fan and will be remembered for being a jokester. He especially loved his dog, Duke.

He is lovingly survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty (Walters) Kennedy, who he married on Sept. 15, 1951; five children, Thomas Kennedy, Patricia (Dominick) Forenz, Rebecca (Samuel) Heusler all of Pulteney, NY Teresa (Jack) Gleason of Penn Yan, NY and Tammy (John) Perkins of Hammondsport, NY; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Josephine Thompson of Rushville, NY and Grace Coombs of Rochester, NY; one brother, David (Ruth) Kennedy of Pulteney, NY; as well as many nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. A funeral service will be held in his memory at 11 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 17, 2022) at the Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home, 35 Main St., Hammondsport. Interment will be in Glenview Cemetery, Pulteney, NY.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to either the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.

The Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home is honored to assist Laurence’s family with the arrangements.

  1. I remember Larry as a happy person, always with a comment and always ready to give encuragement but also ready to make a comment to lighten the mood and make people laugh and smile. I am so sorry for your loss as Larry will be deeply missed by so many. Remember all those comments and the good and happy times. Larry will be with you always not only in your hearts but in your memories as you share them with each other over and over.

Your an inspiration for Many of us for the long and loving year marry to Larry whom I’ve learn to love like a dad to me remembering the last time I so him in his living napping and I said hi dad how are you doing share a few word hugged him gave him a kiss on his bald head and said I love pops see you and take.
