KRIS CHARLES GOODRICH
Kris Charles Goodrich, 62, of Bath, New York passed away on July 30, 2018 in his home with his family and friends by his side. Loving him dearly, and bonding together to deliver him to his Jesus and God, who he loved with all his heart, Kris was never alone in his valiant battle with cancer.
Kris cherished his family. He loved every minute of every hour being part of their lives.
He is survived by his wife; Rebecca (Becky Keeler), daughter; Heather (Brad) Farrow, sons; Adam (Lori) Kisiah, and Aaron (Bryanne) Kisiah, grandchildren; Noah, Maximus, Finley, Maddyson and Mya.
In addition to his immediate family, Kris is survived by his Mother; Dorothy (Father Leigh – predeceased), his sister; Susan (Jay) Dickson, brothers; Jim (Anna) Goodrich, and Bob (Barb) Goodrich, and many nieces and nephews.
Born on December 24, 1955 in Bath, NY, to Leigh and Dorothy Goodrich, Kris grew up in the close knit village of Avoca, New York where he graduated in 1973. In 1977, Kris established Goodrich Auto Works.
Kris married the love of his life, Rebecca L. Keeler on July 18, 1992 in a hot air balloon at the Wellsville New York Balloon Rally. Together, they raised 3 amazing children; Adam Kisiah, Aaron Kisiah, and Heather (Goodrich) Farrow. Starting in 2011, the sparkle in Kris and Becky’s eyes became brighter with the addition of each grandchild; Noah, Maximus, Finley, Maddyson and Mya.
In 1995 Kris and Becky relocated Goodrich Auto Works to Bath, NY where they put their hearts and souls into an ever expanding business. As a team, they worked tirelessly to ensure each and every one of the thousands of customers was expertly taken care of. One of Kris’s greatest achievements was taking a shop of four (4) employees and bolstering it to a cutting edge full service body shop that employs twenty seven (27) local jobs.
Building hot rods was a lifelong passion for Kris. Each “build” getting bigger and louder than the previous. His continually growing car creations and collections awarded him several best of show trophies including placing first (1) in the 2017 Syracuse National Car Show. In 2018 his creation placed #16 out of 10,000 entries.
For over 20 years Kris and Becky would decorate their home with thousands of Christmas “lights” to enhance the spirit and meaning of Christmas, and to share their belief with their artistic and creative light displays for the public to enjoy.
Kris shared his enthusiasm and passion for life with all that he encountered. He and Becky enjoyed traveling the world to over 18 countries while continually giving to those less fortunate. Their humanitarian efforts began with World Hope International in Haiti as medical responders after the catastrophic earth quake of 2010. While in Pokot, Africa, they were fortunate to sponsor and help provide four (4) water wells (with a 5th well in progress) serving over 5,000 people, a medical clinic, school and three (3) churches. Their philanthropic efforts have sponsored Reclaimed Africa Ministries, Pregnancy Resource Center of the Valleys, and Elizabeth Rose Ministries.
Friends and Family may call Friday, August 3, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Wallace Wesleyan Church. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018. There will be a hot rod/show car processional escorting Kris to his final resting place at Valley View Cemetery, Jacobs Ladder Road, Avoca, New York immediately following the service. Anyone wishing to pay tribute and participate with their hot rod/show car will be lined up in the processional escort at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wallace Wesleyan Church or Elizabeth Rose Ministries at the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church.
The “Hot Rod “streets of gold in Heaven gained a few skid marks July 30, 2018 when Kris Charles Goodrich passed thru the gates. His presence and his life contributions will be greatly missed.
The Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St. in Avoca is honored to serve the family of Kris Charles Goodrich.

I didn’t have the pleasure of knowing Kris Goodrich. I do know well his brother Bobby and nephew Ryan. Reading his obituary I’m certain he must have been as fine a man as his brother and nephew. Kind, considerate, tireless workers and filled to the brim with life.
Rest in Peace Mr. Goodrich, your family and friends will most certainly miss you.
I AM SO SORRY TO READ THIS KRIS WAS MY CHILDHOOD FRIEND MY CONDOLENCES TO THE FAMILY . MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH U ALL AT THIS DIFFICULT TIME. KELLIE (MURPHY) ZIMMERMAN
His love of The Lord shines through him. I enjoyed the presence of Kris & Becky & the boys when I attended the Wallace church. May God give you peace during this time.
Becky and family:
So sorry to hear of Kris’s passing. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time
We had a few memorable balloon chases with Kris and Becky. Our hearts go out to Becky and the entire family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.
We’re very sorry to hear of Kris’s passing.Becky and Family have got to be proud of the great life that he gave to you and many others. Dorthy and Family, we feel for your loss. One rememberance of Kris came from my Mom Dolores Julien. When Kris was 2 or 3 years old some of his first words were as he looked out the window and pointed to the heavens was “gonna rain” I think that was has first conversation he had with the Lord. My Mom and Kris’s Mom were cousins and best of friends forever.God speed to you all. Neal and Kitchie
first hot air balloon ride there were a lot of first times with kris probably the most memorable is when i would call him he would say how is the big truck shop in avoca is doing and i would respond how is the big repair shop in bath doing there would be business conversations and then we would talk about non business conversations which were the better which made each other laugh sorry to see him go GOD BLESS s
We were so sorry to hear that Kris had passed. He was a robust entrepreneur, and was well liked. I believe that he used his Christian values at his business. He suggested that rather than submit a claim to insurance, we let his specialist fix the problem. The work was excellent and at a reasonable price. We are grateful for his thoughtfulness.
Although, we were not personal friends, we respected his work ethic.
We, our children, and our grandchildren were delighted for years, with the magnificent Christmas display put on by Kris and his family.
Our deepest sympathies go to his family. We know he will be profoundly missed.
