Kimberly J. Amidon
HORNELL/CANISTEO – Kimberly J. Amidon, 67, formerly of Canisteo, NY passed away Wednesday (Aug. 5, 2026) at her home on Mill Street after a long battle with cancer.
Born in Hornell on July 31, 1959 she was the daughter of the late Paul and Phillis (Hunt) Amidon. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Karen Smith and her beloved cat, Thelma Lou.
A graduate of Canisteo Central School, class of 1978, Kim was employed at one time at Dyco Electronic in Hornell.
Surviving are three brothers, Gerry Amidon, Ron (Amelia) Amidon and Jim (Jayne) Amidon all of Hornell; her former sister-in-law, Kay Amidon of North Carolina; her brother-in-law, Joseph Smith of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews.
To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service. She will be laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery in Canisteo.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.
