December 15th, 1946-April 28th, 2025
WAYNE – The family of Karen L. Hansford of Wayne, NY, is deeply saddened to announce her sudden death on April 28th, 2025. Karen was born on December 15th, 1946. She leaves her beloved son, Allan Hansford of Wayne, granddaughter Alexandra Hansford, her brother Bob Hansford (Karen) of Rochester, NY, nephews Robert and Jonathan Hansford, niece Kimberly Miller, nephews Gordon and Kevin Bierworth, and several great-nephews and nieces. Aside from Karen’s family, she also left behind several friends whom she treated like family.
Karen was predeceased by her beloved sister, Nancy, and her parents Agnes and Robert Hansford. All who knew Karen couldn’t help but love her. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion for everybody. If you knew Karen, you knew how much she enjoyed caring for her chickens and hens. They will miss her.
She had a zest for life and lived each day like it just may be her last. From casinos to cruises on the high seas, there is nothing she wouldn’t do or see.
Please join us on May 5th, 2025 to celebrate the life and love of our dearest, Karen. Services will be held at Bishop & DeSanto, 35 Main Street, HAMMONDSPORT, NY 14840. Calling hours are between 3pm-5pm with the funeral immediately following. The family would like to invite you to the Wayne Fire Department immediately following the funeral. The WD is located at 9997 County Road 87, Wayne, NY 14893. The burial will be private on Tuesday, May 6th. Karen’s final resting place will be at The Wayne Cemetery.
