AVOCA – Judy Ann McMahon, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of Patrick McMahon for 41 wonderful years, sharing a life built on love, laughter, and dedication to family. Judy lived a life filled with love, creativity, and kindness from January 25, 1951, to May 10, 2026. Judy was born in Abilene, TX, and moved to NY when she was very young.

Judy was a loving and proud mother whose greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Patrick McMahon; her children, Dave (Michelle) Johnson, Christopher (Susan) Johnson, Shawn (Jamie) Sunde, Christopher (Korynne) McMahon, Erin McMahon, and Megan McMahon. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kirk Sun-Johnson.

She will be remembered for her generous spirit, unwavering strength, and the love she gave so freely to everyone who knew her. Judy touched many lives through her kindness, compassion, and devotion to those she loved.

In addition to her husband and children, Judy is also survived by her beloved siblings, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and many dear friends whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

Judy was a dedicated bookkeeper whose attention to detail and strong work ethic served her well throughout her career. Beyond her work, she was a talented baker who delighted family and friends with homemade treats, had a deep love for flowers and traveling the countryside to find a beach in her bougie RV life. She possessed a natural gift for interior decorating that made every home she touched feel warm and beautiful.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date.

Judy’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of all who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Avoca Ambulance Association.
