What Joyce loved most was being with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was happiest when they would come to visit and spend time with her at Keuka Lake.  Joyce loved sewing, knitting, reading and being with friends, family and her dog Oliver.

Along with her parents, Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Calvin (Cal) Matson in 2004, son, Robert in 1966, and brother Bill Stenger.  Surviving are her sons, Michael M. Matson of Annapolis, MD, and Stephen H. (Laura) Matson of Corning, NY; grandchildren: Andrew M. (Ginna) Matson of Louisville, KY, Amanda M. (Brandon) Pierson of Corning, NY, Calvin M. 2. So sorry to read of Joyce’s passing. We spend summers south of her cottage, on West Lake Road, and used to see her with mutual friends. She was a dear person. Our sincere condolences.

  3. My condolences to the family for such a sad loss.
The times I’ve spent with Joyce over the years have been so special. She’s always so kind and friendly to everyone she meets. Funny stories she would tell about her life experiences were so much fun to hear. Such a gift for story telling! She had such a sweet way about her. Always had time to speak to you if you bumped into her in the grocery store or post office. I will miss Joyce very much as I know so many will.
