Born in the Town of Howard on Jan. 10, 1927, he was a son of the late Clarence and Lilah Lyke Burdin. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his wife, Pauline Beechner Burdin and his brother, Sterling Burdin.
A resident of the Howard and Avoca area for most of his life, John attended the Smith Pond School in Howard and was a graduate of Avoca Central School.

John was a former member of the Wallace Fire Dept. and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Howard and Avoca.
Some of his favorite past times included bowling, woodworking, deer hunting and playing baseball and softball but most of all John enjoyed spending time with his family.
His family includes his six children, Susan (Nicholas) Pircio of Olean, John “Jack” Jr.(Bonnie) Burdin, of Cohocton, Paula Parker of Wallace, Robert “Butch” (Brenda) Burdin of Howard, David (Melinda) Burdin of Md. and Dale (Marrianne) Burdin of Va.; his 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; his brother, Roger (Anne) Burdin of Howard; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dad,
Love you and miss you so much!

Paula, i’m sorry to hear of your fathers passing. Your family are in my prayers.
Dad,
Thank you for those loving words you spoke to me the last time I saw you. I held your hand and asked if you knew me and reminded you that I was the “newest” member of the in-laws. You replied “and quite a nice addition too”! Thank you for accepting me with so much love and caring. I will alway cherish our drives around Avoca and Howard and the stories you shared. Happily you are with the love of your life, your wife and mother of your children and you are holding the grandchildren and great-grandchildren who departed this earth before us. Thank you for all you did for the family. I am honored to be part of your family.
