JOHN B. CHAPMAN, SR.
AVOCA-John Bertram Chapman, Sr., 78, passed away Saturday afternoon (Aug. 16, 2014) at his home on County Route 8.
Born in the Town of Wheeler on Sept. 14, 1935, John was married for 58 years to Elois Chapman, who survives.
He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War Era from Jan. 20, 1955 to Jan. 17, 1958.
His loving family includes his wife, Elois; his six children, Sheena Carlin of Wheeler, Terry Chapman of Oakdale, La., Anna Chapman of Camp Hill, Pa., Cindy Chapman of Oakdale, La., John Chapman, Jr. of York, Pa. and Rock Chapman of Camp Hill, Pa.; his 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and his brother, Vincent Chapman of Painted Post.
The Avoca Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of John B. Chapman, Sr.
There will be no calling hours. A private funeral service, with military honors, will be held in his memory at the convenience of the family.
He was a very nice man. He had a good heart and loved his family.
