She was born in Bath, NY, on October 12, 1934, and was a lifelong resident of Hammondsport, NY.

Joan and her husband loved the many homeless dogs they took into their home.

She loved gardening, canning tomatoes, and knitting scarves for the local food pantry.

She is predeceased by her mother, Louise C. Husted, husband Fenton (Bill) Stone, daughter Charmaine H. Denny, brother Charles Husted, sisters Nancy (Husted) Railsback, Rose Marie (Husted) Torsto.

Joan is lovingly survived by her sisters Janet M. Ferree, and Leah (James) Nichiporuk of Hammondsport, several nieces and nephews, and former son-in-law Patrice Delmar.

A special thanks to her nephews Chris (Ann) Wilkinson and Christina (Paul) Watson for their support over the years.

Thank you to nurse Becky and the aides who cared for Joan at Steuben Center.

Per Joan’s wishes, there will be no calling hours.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home, Hammondsport, with committal prayers at Pleasant Valley Cemetery to follow. Father Craig Hacker will officiate.
