Jean Theresa Wolff Nesbitt, of Pulteney NY, passed away peacefully at age 93 on December 18, 2023 at MM Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua, NY.

Jean was a loving wife and mother. Jean was born on April 30, 1930 in Corning, NY and graduated from Corning Free Academy in 1948. She worked at Corning Hospital in Medical Records, then married her high-school sweetheart, William L. Nesbitt, on June 6, 1953 and followed him to Killeen TX, where Bill fulfilled his U.S. Army assignment at Fort Hood. They moved back to Corning NY where they raised their family spending summers at Keuka Lake. They retired to Keuka Lake in 1988.

Jean loved spending time with family and friends, boating and hosting get-togethers at Keuka Lake and singing in the church choir at First Presbyterian Church in Corning. During a move to the Endicott NY area, she was seen regularly bicycling to her favorite downtown shopping spots. With relatives hailing from the Arnot PA area as well, Jean had a large group of loving family members. She was cherished by all.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Bill, Canandaigua NY, her sister, Joan Wolff Woodhouse, Painted Post NY, her children Steven (Karen) Nesbitt of Pulteney NY and Vero Beach FL, Nancy (Dave) Stenger, Pulteney NY, and Janet (Aldis) Lemesis, Punta Gorda FL.  Jean was predeceased by her daughter, Lisa Ann Nesbitt (infant 1964). She has three grand-children Matthew (Aimee) Nesbitt, Branchport, NY, Michael Nesbitt, Dallas TX, Marcus Nesbitt, Rochester NY, and two great-grandchildren (sons of Matt and Aimee) Thomas and Andrew Nesbitt.

A memorial service will be held at the Pulteney Presbyterian Church, 9237 County Route 74, Pulteney NY, on December 27, 2023 at 1:00 pm with a reception to follow at the Pulteney Free Library. A private burial service will be held at Bath National Cemetery the following day. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
