JEAN M. BAIRD
AVOCA-Jean M. Baird, 52, of Avoca died Saturday (April 16, 2011) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, after a brief illness.
Born in the Town of Urbana on January 25, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Janet Axtell. In August of 1989 she was married in Bath to Robert Baird, who survives.
A resident of the Bath area for most of her life, Jean enjoyed spelling bees as well as doing puzzles and word search.
Her family includes her husband of nearly 22 years, Robert; her two sons, Todd Axtell and Nicholas Jack (Stacey Rice); her daughter, Michelle (Johnny) Mastin; her three grandchildren; her three brothers, John (Denise) Axtell, Tom (Lori) Axtell and Joseph Axtell; also several nieces and nephews; and several friends including Carey Butler and Elaine Axtell and several other friends in the Avoca area.
Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Wallace Wesleyan Church, where a funeral and committal service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Pastor Bill Spencer officiating. Interment will be in the Bradford Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, N.Y. 13790.
