James Christopher “Jimbo” Frey

HAMMONDSPORT – Affectionately known as “Jimbo” passed away on Monday (Jan. 22, 2024) after a struggle with cancer.

He was born in Buffalo, NY to Chester and Emily (Nance) Frey. Jim was a graduate of Hammondsport High School and went on to become an electrician working in the Baltimore Shipyard and then for 40 years in the Hammondsport and Keuka Lake area.

Jim helped raise several stepchildren and they were a great joy and comfort to him, especially Krystina Wilkins.

Jim’s siblings and friends remember his love of Keuka Lake and boating. He was happiest spending time with family and friends on the lake.

Predeceased his parents, Chester and Emily; he is survived by his siblings, Nancy (Tom) Platek, John (Linda) Frey, Steve (Patty) Frey; as well as his nieces, nephews and stepchildren.

Services to honor his life will be held at a later date.

Jim’s presence and laughter will be profoundly missed but will continue to provide comfort to all that knew him.

We would especially thank all his friends and neighbors who assisted in caring for him.

Contributions may be made in his memory to the glioblastomafoundation.org/get-involved/donate.

The Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home, 35 Main St., HAMMONDSPORT is honored to assist Jim’s family with the arrangements.
