GERALDINE OLMSTED SMITH
HOWARD-Geraldine Olmsted Smith, 77, of County Route 70A, passed away early Monday morning (Oct. 28, 2013) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell.
Born in Wheeler on April 18, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Eldon and Marion Olmsted. She was married to Walter V. Smith, who predeceased her on Nov. 18, 1979. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her granddaughter, Melissia Hammond and her brother, Melford Olmsted.
She was a daycare provider for many years.
Her loving family includes her four daughters, Gail (Robert) Pritting, Pamela Hammond (Don Krause), Joyce Unterborn (Gary Strauss) and Wendy (Kevin) Miller; her eight grandchildren, Robert Pritting III, Justin Pritting, Shannon Pritting, Dawn Miller, Randy Hammond, Bradley Unterborn, Briana Collmer and Brantley Collmer; her sister, Sandra (Ron) Fitzgerald; also several great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will be held following calling hours at 1 p.m. Thursday. Interment will be in Grove Cemetery, Bath.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 13 Beech St., Johnson City, N.Y. 13790.

I am so sorry for your loss, your Mom was one of a kind the thing i will remember most about you Mom is that beautiful smile. She was always warm hearted to me and greeted me with that smile and i see that in you Pam. I guess in that way we will always keep her in our hearts and memories. Love you guys
