ELLEN D. RAMIREZ

HORNELL-Ellen D. Ramirez, 57, passed away late Monday afternoon (Dec. 7, 2015) surrounded by her loving family, at her home on Glen Avenue.
Born in Hornell on Nov. 13, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Charles “Edward” and Marilyn (Fisher) Gillette.
A lifelong resident of Hornell, Ellen was a graduate of Hornell High School and received her LPN from St. James Mercy Hospital School of Nursing.
Ellen was very devoted to her family and loved her dogs. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and doing crafts; but most of all she will be remembered for her great sense of humor.
Her loving family includes her husband, Michael Ramirez; her three children, Michael (Jenifer) Ramirez, Kyle (Melanie) Ramirez and Emily (Kyle) Palmer all of Hornell; her three grandchildren, Mariana and Isabella Ramirez and Myer Palmer; her four brothers, Jeffrey (Faye) Gillette, Andrew (Cheri) Gillette, Thomas (Debbie) Gillette all of Rochester and Stephen (Angie) Gillette of Hornell.
The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell is honored to serve the family of Ellen D. Ramirez.
To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to CareFirst (Hospice), 3805 Meads Creek Road, Painted Post, N.Y. 14870-9509.

  1. So sorry to here of Ellens passing. We went to Boces together and she was always the out going one. So sorry for your lost. It was a blessing to have known her.

  2. Ellen was a great person. I went to St. James School of Nursing with her and can attest to her sense of humor. She was a very caring person and she will be missed by all who knew her. My prayers go out to her family. Rest easy Ellen.
