EDWARD G. WAKEFIELD
BATH-Edward G. Wakefield, 87, passed away Wednesday (April 20, 2016) at Taylor Health Center in Bath.
Born in Dansville on October 2, 1928 he was a son of the late George E. and Sylvia A. (Tripp) Wakefield. On October 8, 1949 he married Aileen R. Setter at St. Andrew’s Church in Kenmore, NY.
Ed worked for Westinghouse and retired from Phillips Corp. in Bath. He enjoyed find a word puzzles, was a member of the Bath Elks Club and a social member of the Bath American legion.
His loving family includes his wife of 66 years, Aileen, his five children, George (Althea) Wakefield of Avoca, Nancy Fell-Wakefield, Joseph (Pamela) Wakefield, Scott (Louise) Wakefield all of Bath and Les (Penny) Wakefield of Addison. Ed also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his daughter Deborah Brewer and his brother Donald Wakefield.
The Avoca Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Edward G. Wakefield.
Calling hours are from Noon-2 p.m. on Sunday (April 24, 2016) at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will be held following calling hours at 2 p.m. with the Pastor Barre Butts officiating. Burial will be in Prattsburg Rural Cemetery.
