DONALD C JOHNSON

BATH-Donald C. “DJ” Johnson, 70, died Tuesday (July 12, 2016) at the Fred and Harriet Taylor Health Center after a short battle with cancer. He was born in Bath on October 20, 1945 a son of Leah (Mattoon) Major. DJ was a retired auto body technician. He enjoyed playing golf and watching NASCAR. He also loved spending time with family, playing Euchre with friends and especially loved playing with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife Georgene Pulos, 3 daughters; Laura Johnson, Valerie (Gus) Kokkinis, Melissa (Leigh) Peacock and step-daughter Ashley (Chad) Miles. His sisters Patricia (Willi) Hopkins, Barbara Rice, sister-in-law Patti Johnson. His brother James (Mary Ellen) Johnson and his aunt Ann Mattoon. Along with many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother Leah and step-father Howard “Red” Major, his brother Harold “Bud” Johnson and son Todd.
The Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, NY is honored to serve the family of Donald C. “DJ” Johnson.
There will be no calling hours at DJ’s request; instead there will be a memorial at the Avoca American Legion on Sunday July 17, 2016 at 2 p.m.

  1. I loved DJ! He was unique and like my father, Walter Alsheimer said if you put Clark Gable and DJ Johnson in a room filled with women DJ would come out on top! He was charismatic and kind! Rest in Peace my dear friend! See you again!! ❤️
