DEO D. STRYKER, SR.
AVOCA/LAKEWORTH, Fla.-Deo Douglas Stryker, Sr. passed away peacefully after a long battle with leukemia on Wednesday (Nov. 21, 2012) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath.
Born in the Town of Urbana on Nov. 26, 1943, he was the son of the late Harlow and Deloris (Bates) Stryker.
He is survived by his sister, Deanna (Vince) Chapman of Painted Post; his brother, David (Janice) Stryker of Arkport and several other siblings; as well as his son, Deo Douglas Stryker, Jr. of Avoca. The family would like to also mention special friends, Ray Pember and family of Lake Worth, Fla. and Shirley Hill of Avoca.
Doug was an avid fisherman, hunter and wood craftsman. He loved landscaping and being outdoors.
At Doug’s request there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, all donations would be appreciated to the VAMC CLC, Building 2, Bath, N.Y. 14810.
Arrangements are with the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca.

Bless be the Stryker family in this time of change.
My prayers to all.
From a former Mitchellsville resident when the Stryker family lived on the hill overlooking Mitchellsville.
