Deborah L. (Northrup) Smith
BATH-Deborah L. (Northrup) Smith, 62 of Lakeview Apartments in Bath, NY died suddenly on Thursday, August 19, 2021. Deborah was born on June 23, 1959 to Wilfred and Katherine Northrup in Bath, NY. She was the 8th of 9 children.
She attended Hammondsport Central School as well as Haverling Central School. If you knew Deb, you knew she was a force to be reckoned with. She was a well known bartender in various establishments in Bath, Corning and Sodus. She also worked several vineyards in the Pulteney area for various growers.
She was an active member of the ACS Bath Pool League and Bath/Hammondsport Women’s Pool League for many years. Deb was always ready to sit and listen to your troubles as long as you were ready for her advice. She had a heart of gold, always involved in fund raisers for individuals as well as community events. Turtle Beach being one of her favorites. She loved word puzzles, games of all kinds, her plants and family. Deb lived her life on her own terms. “Accept me for who I am or get out of my way!”
Deb was pre-deceased by her father, Wilfred Northrup; mother, Katherine Linkoski; brother, William Northrup; sisters, Jackie Pryll, Bonnie Passino and Dawn Hamilton.
She is survived by children, Nick (Lisa) Ritter, Andy Youngs, Colin Decker and Geordon (Krysten) Miller. Grandchildren, Justin, Kaylee, Kolby, Tucker, Keyaira, Colton, Cason, Kendrick, Skylar, Karter, Karli and Conrad. Sisters, Sandy (Rick) Phillips, Patty (Lauren) Welch and brothers, Bill Northrup and David (Shellie) Northrup. Her Companion, Dan Harrigton and best friend, Jane Smith. A huge family of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and a long list of friends.
Deb’s wishes were for no calling hours or service. She requested a celebration of her life by those who knew and loved her to share stories, memories and hugs! This will be held at the American Legion, Hammondsport, NY Wednesday, August 25th at 4:00 PM. Private burial will be held at the family’s convenience.
The LaMarche Funeral Home, 35 Main St., Hammondsport is honored to assist Deborah’s family with the arrangements.
