David Leon Remchuk

HORNELL – David Leon Remchuk, 51, of Hornell, rode off into the sunset on Monday (March 12, 2018) in Daytona Fla., living life to the fullest.

He was born on October, 15 1966 in Hornell N.Y. to Fay (Burns) Herrneckar and James Remchuk and was helped to be lovingly raised by Harlond Holley and Charlie Turner.

Dave graduated from Hornell High School in 1985 and started working for New York State Electric and Gas (NYSEG) in 1987 working in many capacities for the company, the last being as a line mechanic.

Dave started a very successful side business in 1992 called Crosby Creek Outfitters.

He married the former Angela “Angel” Testani on July 2, 2005; they resided on Crosby Creek Road for the past 16 years with many 4-legged fur babies.

Dave enjoyed motorcycling, hunting, skeet shooting, side by side riding, snowmobiling, but Dave’s biggest passion would be his love for firearms.

Besides his wife Angel, he is survived by his 4-legged children, Harley, Eddie and Berris; his mother, Fay(Joe) Herrneckar; his father (not by human blood,) Charlie Turner; his brother, Norm (Deborah Remchuk, MD) Remchuk of Poquoson, Va.; his mother-in-law, Ruth Testani; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom Testani, Beeb (Frank) Kilcoyne, Roseanne (Tom) Wall; Jim (Samantha) Testani, John Gordon, Matt (Jodi) Testani, Michael (Lina) Testani, Marisa (Dr. Richard Ferro) Testani; his nieces and nephews, Ryan, Michael and Elizabeth Remchuk, TJ(Judy) Testani, Jedidiah (Michele Kuhn) Wall, Benjamin Wall, Alex (Nicole Mazzatti) Wall, Cecilia Wall, Kealan, Caitlin, Aran and Liam Kilcoyne, Colby and Sophia Testani, Felicia and Mikey Testani; and many step relatives.

Dave was predeceased by his father, Jim Remchuk, step- father, Harlond Holley, sister, Paula Remchuk, father-in-law, Bill Testani, and sister-in-law, Andrea “Spook” Testani.

The family would appreciate the courtesy of no flowers and suggest contributions in his memory be made to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, N.Y. 14843

Badass Dave “Stick” wouldn’t have wanted calling hours so we’re having a Celebration of Life (AKA Dave’s Party) at 5 p.m. Saturday (March 24, 2018) at the Hornell American Legion. All are welcome.

“Every man dies but not every man really lives.”

The Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St. in Hornell is honored to serve the family of David Leon Remchuk.
