DAVID K. BUSH
HORNELL-David K. Bush, 72, of Cameron Ave., passed away unexpectedly, with his family at his side, early Sunday afternoon (July 21, 2013) at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, where he had been a patient for one day.
Born in North Hornell on Oct. 31, 1940, he was the son of the late Melvin L. “Bud” and Princess Reiff Bush. On May 4, 1984, he was married in Hornell to the former Jennifer D. Graham, who survives.
A resident of Hornell for most of his life, David was a graduate of Hornell High School and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Rochester in 1962 and a master’s degree from Cornell University in 1964.
After beginning his career with IBM, he returned to Hornell and was employed as the CEO of his family’s business, Seneca Jeep Eagle, from 1978-1997; and was a member of the Professional Sales Society of American Motors Corporation.
David was a sports enthusiast, who especially loved horses, and throughout the years he was the proud owner of several thoroughbreds.
He was a former member of the Hornell Association and the Carducci Lodge in Hornell.
His family includes his wife of 29 years, Jennifer; his two stepchildren, Charles Woolever of Honeoye Falls and Amy (Kip) Palmer of Victor; also his two step-grandchildren, Paige and Zachary; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Marjorie Graham of Hornell.
To honor his wishes there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held in his memory at the convenience of his family at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell, with the Rev. Marian Luce, Pastor of the United Methodist Church in Hornell officiating. Interment will be in the Arkport Heritage Hill Cemetery.
