ANNE C. GREEN

Anne Carey Green, 76, died July 3, 2021 after a short, fierce battle with cancer. She was born July 16, 1944 in Bath, N.Y. to Geraldine Rigney Green and Leonard W. Green. She was raised in Hammondsport and graduated from Hammondsport Central School, Class of 1962. She studied Labor Relations at LeMoyne College and earned a Master’s degree from the University of Illinois. She accepted a position as Director of Research and Education, at the International Chemical Workers Union, traveling all over the United States and abroad.

She retired in 2003 after nearly 35 years and returned to Hammondsport to live in her family home. She became active in the community. Anne’s faith was important to her and she was happy to devote time and effort to St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church. She served as a Village Trustee. Anne also participated in the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry. She was a representative for the Keuka Lake Watershed Committee. She belonged to Hammondsport Women’s Club, as did her mother. Anne will be missed by many.

She is survived by her brother James Rigney (Rick) Green of Topeka Kansas, her sister Gail Kyea of Plattsburgh New York, her niece Suzanne Kyea and Rick Mahoney of Florida, four grand-nieces Jalyn, Kalli-Sue, Danielle, Emily and a great-grand-nephew Cade Michael. She loved them dearly and was committed to keeping family traditions a part of their lives and assisting them in pursuing college educations.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother-in-law, Leonard Kyea, and two nephews, Michael Kyea and Jared Kyea and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family wishes to thank all family members and friends who volunteered to help Anne in any way, with special thanks to Diane Peacock, who visited Anne every day to help.

Memorial donations may be made in Anne’s memory to the Fred and Harriett Taylor Memorial Library, Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry, or a charity of one’s choice.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, July 7th from 6:00PM – 8:00PM at the LaMarche Funeral Home, 35 Main St., Hammondsport, NY. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM Thursday July 8th at St. Gabriel’s Church in Hammondsport.

  1. Very sorry to find to see that Anne is no longer with us. Many fond memories of her in
a Hammondsport now also many years past. Anne was one my last links to that time.

  2. Hard to believe that Anne is no longer
with us. I remember her as the cute kid
sister of Gail and Ricky and was the one
of the few reminders of those times for
me to talk to. She will be missed. My
    condolences to Ricky and Gail.
