Anita K. Lass

PRATTSBURGH – Anita K. Lass, 75, of Prattsburgh, NY passed away at her home on Sunday, April 3, 2022. She was born on January 2, 1947 to the late Sheldon and Margaret (Minor) Burns. Anita married John A. Lass on September 24, 1966. She worked at Taylor Winery and The Robbins Nest.

Anita enjoyed music and was known to call her family and sing “I just called to say I love you”. During warmer months you could find Anita tending to her flower gardens or sitting on the back deck enjoying time with her family and friends with “God’s Tree” in the background.

Anita was known for her homemade potato pancakes, enjoying a Genesee or two and scratch off tickets.

Anita is survived by her husband John, her children James (Tammy) Lass, Sr., Andrew (April) Lass, John (Linda) Lass, David (Robin) Lass, Tara (Gary) Whitney, 17 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, her sister Elaine (Rick) McKinney, many nieces and nephews, special cousin Clint Cummings and special friends Doris Gilbert and Pat and Hub Brown.

Besides her parents, Anita was predeceased by her brother Joseph Burns, sister Shelly (Gary) Snyder, daughter Lisa Lass, and grandchildren Jessica and Brandon Lass.

Anita’s family would like to thank Karen Tomer, Anita’s granddaughter, for the daily trips to help care for Anita and countless hours spent in doctor’s offices and the hospital. Karen, you made it possible for your grandmother to be at home right where she wanted to be.

The Bishop & DeSanto (formerly LaMarche) Funeral Home, 35 Main St., Hammondsport, is honored to assist Anita’s family with the arrangements.
