Amy E. Wolcott

HORNELL-Amy E. Wolcott, 49, of Scott Street, was surrounded by her loving family, when she passed away Monday evening (Dec. 5, 2022) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

Born in Hornell on Dec. 1, 1973, she was the daughter of Paul Crowe and Regina (Mattie) Crowe.

A resident of Hornell for most of her life, Amy was a graduate of Hornell High School, class of 1992 and attended Corning Community College. She was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Elderwood at Hornell and Noyes Memorial Hospital in Dansville. She also provided daycare at her home and was a talented nail artist.

Amy was a very considerate and thoughtful person. She was very outgoing and made friends easily; and had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit. She loved to laugh and had a smile that lit up the room. Amy’s favorite times were those spent with family and friends and attending Luke Bryan concerts every summer. She also loved her pets and enjoyed cooking and watching cooking shows. She was deeply loved and will be dearly missed.

She is lovingly survived by her husband of nearly 20 years, Chalmers T. Wolcott, Jr.  who she married in Hornell on Jan. 5, 2002; one daughter, Jordan Wolcott of Hornell; her mother, Gina (Stephen) Moores of Hornell; her father, Paul (Barbara) Crowe of Hornell; siblings, Paul Crowe, Jr. of Hornell, Whitney Crowe of Albany, NY, Erin (James) Edger of Corning, NY, Jon (Mary) Moores of Abbottstown, PA, Stacey (Ryan) Bentley of Hornell and Rachel Kuras of Naples, NY; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chalmers T. Sr. and Christine Wolcott of Cohocton, NY; three brothers-in-law, Jonathan (Tammie) Wolcott of Fincastle, VA, Matthew (Sarah) Wolcott of Schenectady, NY and Samuel Wolcott of Dansville, NY; also her nieces, nephews, aunts. uncles and cousins.

There will be no public calling hours. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann’s Church in Hornell at the convenience of the family. Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Fremont.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, or St. Ann’s Academy, P.O. Box 446, Hornell, NY 14843
