Alice E. Hutchinson

HORNELL – Alice E. Hutchinson, 93, of State Route 21 (Town of Hornellsville), passed away Monday evening at Wellsville Manor in Wellsville, NY, following a long illness.

Born in Buffalo, NY on Dec. 24, 1932 she was a daughter of the late Thomas “Tommie” and Grace Bostick. She was married to Revere L. “Hutch” Hutchinson at a beautiful candlelight ceremony at the Calvary Baptist Church in Wellsville; he predeceased her on April 1, 2017 after 63 years of marriage. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Ruth Sheridan and brother, Barney (Betty) Bostick.

A graduate of Andover Central School, Alice has resided in Hornell since 1955.

She began her long-time career with Westinghouse in Bath, NY, retiring from North American Philips.

Alice was a active member of the former Eastern Star, the Rebekahs and the Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem in Hornell. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cpl. J.J. Mooney VFW Post 2250 and the International Order of Odd Fellow (IOOF) also in Hornell.

She especially enjoyed spending time volunteering, playing and working Bingo games and watching sports on television.

Alice is lovingly survived by her daughter, Vickie Clark of Hornell; as well as several nieces and nephews.

There will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to join her family at Rural Cemetery, Hornell where a graveside service will take place in her memory at 1 p.m. TUESDAY (June 9, 2026) with the Rev. Karl Kemp officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Hornell Area Humane Society, 7649 Industrial Park Road, Hornell, NY 14843.
