Aunt Maria,
I’ll never forget you. You always supported me and my crazy ideas and never let me down. You helped me to appreciate family and good homecooking. You taught me how to keep a family together and i will do my best to carry on in your traditions. Christmas, Halloween, Birthdays, Cookouts, graduations, and so many other gatherings will never be the same without you. I’ll always be there for Uncle Duane and especially Tyler and i will make sure he is never left without someone by his side.Aunt Colleen and I made a collage of all the photos we all had of you and many of our family and it came out great! It made me sad that you could not be here to see it. WE all love and miss you forever and always. ~
To all of us,
Let the rain fall and wash away our sadness and let the sunshine warm our hearts and memories. For she is in a better place. We can only live on and live it up until we meet up with her again forever and always ~Aunt Maria~
xoxoxo,

Many of the memories I hold of my Aunt Maria can be described in single words; The Yankees,The Jets, Crafts, Christmas Eve, Wayne’s World, Meatballs, Bruce Springsteen as well as so many more. I’m sure everyone has different ideas about their journeys to heaven but today in honor of my aunt, I quote an excerpt from a song by The Boss himself in my rendition of her journey.
“I’m no hero, that’s understood.
All the redemption I can offer is beneath this dirty hood.
With a chance to make it real somehow, hey what else can we do now?
Except roll down the window and let the wind blow back your hair.
Well the night’s bustin open, and these two lanes will take us anywhere.
We got one last chance to make it real, To trade in these wings on some wheels.
Climb back in, Heaven’s waiting down the tracks.
Come take my hand, We’re riding out tonight to case the promised land.
Oh Thunder Road, Oh Thunder Road,
Lying out there like a killer in the sun.
I know it’s late, we can make it if we run.
Oh Thunder Road,
Sit tight, Take hold, Thunder Road”
Enjoy your journey, Aunt Maria make sure to say hello to grampa Bunga and Gramma Jenny for us.
I love you and I will miss you very much, Love Alyssa
Maria, I meet you twelve years ago right after you gave birth to Tyler, we hit it right off because you are the sweetest, nicest women in the world. I remember when you came back to work and we talked about how you could be my mom, because of the age difference, it was so much fun, that’s how you became my other mom. I will miss you so much Maria, you will always be in my heart. Thank you so much for being a part of my life. My thoughts and prayers are with Duane and Tyler.
