We are shocked and saddened by Diane’s sudden death. Her company was always enjoyed by all the members of our family. My favorite memory of Diane is when six people, including her dear friend Christine, crammed into our car and went to an Easter sunrise service at Alfred-Almond Bible Church. We had so much fun just being together in the car and we heard a good message too as the sun came up over the frozen horizon. Of course, there was hot coffee to drink and goodies to eat which was great news to Diane who had one giant sweet tooth. She loved her flowers, her cats and in general things of beauty and refinement. We will miss her. My one regret is that I did not make time to visit with her now that we do not reside in Hornell full time. I always thought there would be another opportunity to get together. We will remember you with great affection, Diane.
I heard your voice today
You said “Yippie” “Hooray”
Perhaps it was the wind speaking, oh how we could hear His Voice in the breeze. My best and dearest friend, our life I will celebrate but I miss you….my Diane….and I know this empty feeling I have right now will ease. For, you, my friend knew beyond doubt that there was a time for everything. A time to plant, a time to reap, a time to live and a time to die.
I will see you soon my beloved. Neither life nor death can separate those who love the Lord. Remember His Word that He spoke to us…..as BFF’S….A FRIEND IS A FRIEND FOREVER….WHEN THE LORD IS THE LORD OF THEM.
Well this is tough. I always though my wife and I would be talking with Diane again soon.
Since we live in Florida we talked with Diane weekly or more over the phone and we would meet her when she came to Sunhine’s home in Georgia every year we could.
But mostly Diane was about our oldest friend in the world.
She introduced Trish and me, and it was in her apartment that we “hooked up” and we have never been separated from one another since. 8 years later Diane was Trish’s Maid of Honor at our wedding way back in 1977.
In those days Diane was a wondrous, humorous, mysterious woman I remember her in her black robe with its voluminous hood – she would wear it when we went out partying. Oh boy could Diane party – we always has the best times -often magical.
In our later years both Diane and ourselves had the blessing of a spiritual awakening, so in the last years our friendship we became even closer than ever as we shared our common bond of faith.
Diane loved deeply. She loved us deeply and we always remained close like family.
Both I and my wife Trish well miss our friend terribly. God’s best blessing on all of her friends and family.

Diane was the person I have known the longest other than family. I met Diane when I was 18 and a little crazy. Diane always got me, one of the few people who thought my jokes were funny! We have been in touch for 40 years, and had our ups and downs, I will miss her very much.
I came to know Diane through her determination to complete her CSA degree at Alfred University. We were all proud of her achieving her goal of a MPS degree. I was saddened to learn of her passing; my condolances to her family and friends.
