DIANE M. RICHARDSON

HORNELL-Diane M. Richardson, 62, passed away unexpectedly Monday (July 6, 2009) at her home at 90 East Ave.
Born in Buffalo Sept. 14, 1946 the daughter of the late Carl and Alice Kriedemann Myers, she was also predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Gustav and Marie Kriedemann, her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Meyers and her uncle and aunt, Dr. Edwin and Mrs. June Kriedemann.
A former resident of Tonawanda, Diane resided in Wellsville before moving to Hornell about 10 years ago.
Formerly employed by the military, in horticulture and as a legal secretary, she graduated from Alfred State College in 2001, and was inducted into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. In 2003 she graduated from Alfred University and on May 16, 2006 she received her master’s degree from Alfred University.
Diane was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Wellsville and was an active volunteer with the Hornell Chapter of the American Red Cross. She enjoyed gardening, literature and loved cats.
Her family includes her beloved, Charles and Sunshine Richardson of Guyton, Ga. and their family; several cousins, Kathy Silverman of East Rochester, Carl Kriedemann of Big Pine Key, Fla. and Wesley Kriedemann of Freeville as well as many cousins in the Buffalo area; also her two favorite cats, Gabriel and Monet.
Calling hours are from 5-7 p.m. Monday at the Bishop & Johnson Funeral Home, Inc., 285 Main St., Hornell, where a funeral and committal service will be held following calling hours at 7 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Gregory Huth of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Dansville officiating. Interment will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Cemetery, North Tonawanda.
