  1. To: Sal, John and Julie, Kelly and Lee, Bill, and of course grandchildren Dan, Jack and Carly. My deepest condolences for the loss of Fran (Grandma).

I’m so sorry that I can’t make the calling hours or funeral service today to see you and to honor Fran’s life. I have a commitment here at school that prohibits me from attending. Please know that my thoughts are with all of you today and in the coming days as you remember the great person “Grandma Fran” was.

It must have been difficult in the end to see her the way she was, but we’ll all always remember her as the fun-loving caring person she was in her best days.

I can still picture she and Jackie sitting at the kitchen table in Dansville giving all of us “kids” a hard time and laughing at all we did. Seeing Franny fuss over one of her favorite dogs faithfully and proudly sitting on her lap, will also be a lasting memory. Probably more than anything else will be her love of having us all visit her and Sal at the lake. No matter when we showed up, there was always good food on the table (and cold beer in the fridge) for all of us and no matter how loud we got or how many crazy stunts we pulled on Sal’s boat, she had the patience to deal with us. I will never forget one particular time that John and I had to drive Fran and Jackie home from an especially fun trip to The Switzerland tavern at Keuka Lake, when we weren’t quite old enough to have a driver’s license. Oops, that was supposed to be a family secret between us… sorry! 🙂

My deepest sympathy to you all. Fran was a great lady. I plan to buy a six pack of Schmidts beer after work tonight to properly toast her life! Here’s to you Fran, you and Jackie are finally together again.

    Love,
    Bart

  2. Dear Sal…
I am aboard ship and will be unable to attend Cousin Fran’s funeral services. Please accept my sincere condolences for your very close and personal loss. You and Fran enjoyed a marriage that was envied and respected by the rest of the family. I hope you can take some comfort knowing that Fran is at now peace and suffering no more.
    With sincere sympathy,
    Charles Tompkins

  3. Sal, John, Kelly & grandchildren

We feel so bad that we are not able to make it back home in time for the funeral and wanted all of you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers today.

Fran, we remember all the great times we spent together at Keuka Lake, in Florida, the good times we had in Hornell, and when you and Sal came to Rochester. Naturally, you wanted to go shopping, but first we had to go to Burger King for a Junior Whopper, French Fries and Coffee. We would be gone the better part of the day and come home empty handed most of the time!! We had a lot of good laughs and talked about all the good times we had with you and Sal whenever we went out.

We will miss you, but knowing that you are in a happier place with Jackie takes some of the pain away.

Well Fran, I guess this is our last goodbye. You have been a great sister and sister-in-law and we will always keep you in our hearts. We love you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all today.

    God Bless.
