  14. Arlene was my cousin. We always laughed and had fun while living in Susquehanna – our young years. Then my parents moved us to Elmira and Arlene arrived there for nurse’s training at St. Joseph’s Hospital. Arlene lived with us for some time and it was so much fun. She was the sister I never had. We were bridesmaids in each other’s weddings. We kept in touch only a few times a year, but remained close in spirit. The last time we spoke was in fall and we hashed over some memories and laughed about them all over again. I will miss knowing she is here.
