Simply said, I truly loved and admired Phyllis.
We worked side by side for a number of years, and while there were wonderful nurses around us, there were none better than Phyllis. She just had an uncanny way of “knowing” what was needed, both in simple ways and in the most complicated of situations.
Always the good nurse, she was a better friend. We would lose contact for periods of time, but when we reconnected, it was like no time had passed. Somehow fate had me coming to Corning just as she became so very ill. It almost didn’t happen because I couldn’t get through to her by phone. I decided to get bold and just knocked on her door, unannounced. She had had a turn for the worse the night before. Nevertheless, during our brief visit, I was able to tell her how much she has meant to me, hug her, and give her my love. Yes, I feel so very blessed to have had that opportunity and I know that Phyllis gave her “everything” so that it happened. That was Phyllis!
Dear Tom,Judy, Ann and family, Sorry to read of another loss to your family. Sincerely, Donna Miller
