Miklos Somogyi
BATH – Miklos Somogyi, 87, passed away Thursday (Jan. 4, 2024) at his home on South Avenue.
Born in Hungary on April 20, 1936, Miklos owned and operated the National Hotel in Bath and was employed as a cook at the Steuben County Jail.
Miklos was a “family guy” who loved taking care of family and friends. He enjoyed traveling and going for rides.
He was married in South Pulteney, NY to his wife Doris, who predeceased him on April 10, 2008. Besides his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by, one son, Miklos; two brothers and two sisters.
He is lovingly survived by his son, Sandor “Sandy” Somogyi.
There will be an hour of calling from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Friday (Feb. 2, 2024) at the Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home, 35 Main St., HAMMONDSPORT where a funeral service will take place in his memory at 2 p.m. Friday.

My heart is with my NY family. Mike loved life and family. He has gone on ahead and will see us on the other side when we are called home. Mike always made you welcome in his home with a pie and coffee. Sending hugs for all. RIP Mike
