Mary M. Duthoy
CANASERAGA – Mary M. Duthoy, 82, passed away early Sunday morning (Aug. 18, 2024) at her home on Mill Street, with her family at her side, surrounded by their love.
Born in Warsaw, NY on July 4, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Georgia (Price) Gregorius. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her grandson, Brandon DeRitter; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Rawleigh; two brothers, Eugene “Tink” Gregorius and David Gregorius; infant sister, Georgia Mary Gregorius; two sisters, Susie Gregorius and Molly Spencer.
A resident of Canaseraga most of her life, Mary was a graduate of Canaseraga Central School.
Throughout the years she was employed by the Swain Ski Center, Mastin Food Market and the Fawcett American Legion Post in Canaseraga, Kelly Brothers Nursery in Dansville and retired as the clerk for the Town of Burns.
Mary was a devout member of St. Mary’s Church in Canaseraga where she was a member of the choir. She was also a member the Canaseraga Fire Department and a member and past Chaplain of the Fawcett American Legion Post Auxiliary.
An avid Buffalo Bills fan, she loved trips to the casinos and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She is lovingly survived by her five children, Lynn (Harold) Vosburg and Amy (Freddy) Duthoy-Greenthal all of Canaseraga, Lisa (Bill) Cox of Geneseo, NY, Daniel (Kimberle) Duthoy and David Duthoy all of Canaseraga; 13 grandchildren, Jonathan (Michelle) DeRitter, Ben (Molly) DeRitter, Hannah DeRitter, Josh (Heather) Duthoy, Mari Oliver, Amber (Mike) Oliver, Jaelynn Greenthal, Heather Scott, Uriah Scott, Emma Scott, Jordynn Duthoy, McKenzie Duthoy and Gracie Duthoy; 18 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Patricia Maker and Frances Hoffman both of Canaseraga and Anna Schneider of Conesus Lake; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
To honor her wishes there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to join her family at St. Mary’s Church, 6 North St., Canaseraga where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Friday (Aug. 23, 2024). Committal prayers and interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canaseraga.
Everyone is invited to a celebration of life at the Fawcett American Legion Post in Canaseraga after the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to the Canaseraga Ambulance Fund, 10 Main St., Canaseraga, the Fawcett American Legion Post, 83 West Main St., Canaseraga or to St. Mary’s Church, P.O. Box 189, Canaseraga, NY 14822. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the church.
