Kelly J. Cleveland

DENVER/HORNELL – Kelly passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at his apartment in Denver, Colorado at the age of 70. He was the youngest son of Hilliard and Elaine (Kelly) Cleveland. Predeceased by his parents and brothers, Joe and Jan and nephew, J.J. Cleveland.

He is survived by his brothers Jim (Mary) Cleveland of Hammondsport, NY Jon (Bertie) Cleveland of Hornell and sister-in-law Linda of Hornell. Also, nephew, Richard (Ruth Ann) Cleveland of Washington, PA; nieces, Colleen (Tom) McDaniel, Katy Cleveland of Hornell, Cortney Andrus of Canisteo, NY, Pam Mandel (Erik) of Groveland, NY, Sue (Ron) Preiskorn of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Kari (Jon) Duncan of Memphis, Tennessee.

Kelly was born on February 25, 1954 in Hornell and is a graduate of Hornell High School class of 1972. While in high school, he played football with his brother Jan. Soon after his enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he developed his computer skills for a trade in building trusses for new homes. He used this for jobs in the Carolina’s, New Jersey, Texas and finally in Denver where he resided for the rest of his life.

Kelly was the quietest of the five Cleveland boys of Crosby Street and the fifth ward.

A military service and burial is planned at the National Cemetery at the Bath V. A. at a later date.
