Erin Alderman
AVOCA – Erin Alderman left this world to meet her Savior and Lord on August 9, 2023, age 82.
Born Erin O’Brien Dillon, on November 19, 1940, to Leslie R. Dillon and AnnaBelle (O’Brien) Dillon, of LeRoy, NY. She went to High School in Canisteo, NY. and married F. Bruce Alderman of Avoca, NY, on October 20, 1962. They had two children, Paul and Noele, and remained married until his passing last year.
She worked for a time as a receptionist at St. James Hospital, in Hornell, NY. In 1972, she became a Dispatcher for the Bath Police Department and Steuben County Fire Control, in Bath NY, where she retired after 23 years of service. She loved to paint and she loved cats. But the most important part of her life was serving God. She played piano and organ at Haskinville and Wallace Wesleyan Churches, as well as numerous others. She and Bruce loved to travel, and they volunteered at several ministries around the country at various times. She was kind, patient and loving.
She passed away peacefully in the company of her daughter. She was preceded by her parents, and her sisters, Cheryl and Sandra. She is survived by her two children, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Erin’s life will be celebrated at the Wallace Wesleyan Church at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 17, 2023. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Elizabeth Rose Ministry at elizabethroseministry.org.
The Bishop & DeSanto Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., AVOCA is honored to assist Erin’s family with the arrangements.

Erin and Bruce sat in the back of Haskinville Wesleyan Church and got a hug from my son as we entered each week for Sunday School Opening. She was always smiling! Erin was a sweet lady who will be missed by many.
If it weren’t for you, Aunt Erin, and Uncle Bruce, I would not have been reunited with my beloved mother, Sandra, and her precious family. I’ve been very blessed to know and love you all! Thank you.♥️🍀♥️
Joan, we all love the story of the role that Aunt Erin and Uncle Bruce played in reuniting you and Mom! Erin and Bruce loved you.
