Corinna K. Martin
HAMMONDSPORT-Corinna K. Martin, 96, passed away on Wednesday (Dec. 16, 2020) at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, after a short illness.
She was born on Nov. 12, 1924 in a farm house on the Middle Road (County Route 76) in the town of Urbana. Her parents were Herbert and Grace (Fort) Keech.
Corinna graduated two years early from Hammondsport Central School and was the Valedictorian of the Class of 1941.
She was a lifetime member of the Bath Chapter Order of Eastern Star, a member of the Roswell-McDaniels Post of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the Village of Hammondsport Planning Board from 1992-2008.
Corinna was a former employee of Mercury Aircraft, Corning Glass Works, the Bath V.A. Center and Bethesda Hospital. She retired from the Taylor Wine Company in 1984 as Employee Benefits Administrator after 20 years of service.
She was predeceased by her husband, Delwood Martin in 1989; one brother, S. Elwin Keech of Westfield, N.Y. and one sister, Beulah Raymond of Union Springs, N.Y.
She is survived by one son, Terry Bretherton of Hammondsport; one granddaughter, Teralin Bretherton of Cottekill, N.Y.; also three nephews and one niece.
There will be no calling hours or funeral service. Interment will be in Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Hammondsport.
