Charlotte graduated from Andover Central School, where she was a cheerleader and drum majorette. After her marriage she became a resident of Hornell and resided on Mays Avenue for many years before moving to Myrtle Beach, S.C.
While living in Hornell, she worked at St. James Hospital in patient registration and as a switchboard operator. She enjoyed playing tennis, bicycling, walking, gardening, playing cards, and sunbathing at the beach.
She will be remembered most of all for being a loving and wonderful wife and mother.
She is survived by her family: sons, Jeff (Charlene) Oyer and Jamie Oyer all of Hornell; four grandchildren, Zachary (Katie), Tyler, Davin and Daelynn; one sister, Harriett (Donald) Latten of Wellsville; two brothers-in-law, Richard Oyer and Robert (Irena) Oyer; several nieces and nephews as well as her close friends; Peg O’Rourke, Joanne Palmesono, Debbie Mandiville and all ladies of the Myrtle Beach Red Hat Society.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Lillian Dean; her husband, James E. Oyer Sr.; several aunts and uncles, her sister-in-law, Irene Oyer, brother in-law, Raymond Oyer, and close friend, Midge Hunt.
