Brigitte Smith
BATH – Brigitte Smith,72, of Bath NY passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, February 10, 2024.
Brigitte was born and raised in Marnheim Germany until the age of 18 when she was introduced to the love of her life, Paul. Soon after meeting, they married and moved back to the states to her husband’s hometown of Bath. Throughout their years together the couple enjoyed dancing, skiing, bowling, golfing and traveling. After the death of her husband in 2011, she found a core group of friends that she enjoyed spending a great deal of time with quilting, playing cards and going out to eat.
Brigitte is pre-deceased by her husband, Paul Smith; parents, Alfred and Magdalena Costa of Marnheim, and sister, Christel Segmehl of Kertzenheim. She is survived by her sisters, Brunhilde Hofmann of Eisenburg Germany, Rosemary Costa of Kirchheimbolanden Germany; several very loved nieces and nephews in Germany and the U.S.; her son, Michael (Jill) Smith; daughter, Stephanie Luta (Elliot); grandchildren, Logan (Evan) Cornell, Anthony Luta (Nate), Orion Smith (Jordan), Dawson Smith (Vivian) and great grandchildren, Nova, Lennon and Arlo Cornell.
The family will be having a private ceremony at a later date.
